This year is off to an incredible start in the world of strange brow trends, and now, 27-year-old makeup artist Chuni Zahedi (known on Instagram as @chunimakeup) is adding another unexpected look to the running list: the “brow chain.” In her Insta photo she posted in late March, Zahedi added a gold chain underneath each brow (which she perfected using Anastasia Beverly Hills Dipbrow Pomade in “Dark Brown”).

Zahedi, who is based in Finland, said in an email to Cosmopolitan.com that she first incorporated chains in her cut crease (seen below), and after she was encouraged by the positive reactions, she then tried it on her eyebrows.

“I work at a jewelry store,” she wrote. “Sometimes our jewels break and we need to throw them away.” Zahedi said she felt bad throwing pieces away, so she got the idea to use the extra chains in her makeup looks. And her go-to product for applying them is Stargazer’s Mastix Makeup Glue to make sure the chain is stays put.

While others might use highlighter under their brows for emphasis, you could argue that Zahedi’s chain accomplishes the same effect. It’s eye-catching! It’s shiny! But it’s definitely not an everyday kind of highlight. However, it might be fun to try it for a night.
