Kate Middleton’s Makeup Artist Insists You Start Using A Facial Oil
We finally know the secret to the Duchess of Cambridge’s all-seasons glow, and it’s something us mere mortals can easily try: facial oil.
Kate Middleton’s long-time make-up artist, Arabella Preston, has waxed lyrical on the benefits of beautifying facials oils to W magazine. Preston helped Kate Middleton do her wedding day makeup, so it’s safe to say we’re happy to do exactly what she says.
Preston explains to W that people are often put up using oils as they use too much and “are left feeling greasy.”
“I always say three, maybe four drops is plenty for your face and neck,” she says. “Apply an oil first and massage it into your skin. Allow a minute for it to absorb then use a cream if you ned the extra hydration and then apply your foundation.”
Preston also spruiks facial oils as the ultimate primer. “If you ask a pro makeup artist how they prep skin, they say a facial oil nine times out of 10,” she says. Her own skincare range, Votary, is based on natural oils, which she says can be tailored to suit all skin types.
