From last-ditch sun reveries to Who’s That Girl? makeovers, this week’s best beauty Instagrams were designed to draw attention. For Gabrielle Union, a literally laid-back pool day doubled as an opportunity to splay her braids, the pink bikini-clad actress’s plaits snaking through the shallows, while Hailey Baldwin‘s al freso relaxation centered on a mermaid-worthy slick back that read statuesque.

Glossy found a fan in freckled-faced model Salem Mitchell, whose high-shine pout succeeded in pulling focus from an equally lustrous choker, and Solange Knowles, her effulgent slick of the lip, echoed at eye level, and wash of warm metallics were framed in a cloud of dreamy curls. Ballerina Kathryn Boren put your end-of-season workout to shame, pairing the drama of dance with hand-eye prowess and the sort of balance that could make most heads spin. And as Imaan Hammam traded in her signature kinks for a 1950s coiffure—the retro effect furthered by a crimson lip—Cindy Crawford echoed a similar era, her bombshell brunette replaced by blanched and polished waves, which, when coupled with her beauty mark, mirrored a silvered Marilyn Monroe.
